![]() Missing Tracks came up empty, but that didn't surprise me. It may be the Tune Sweeper database doesn't have those older songs or albums anymore, therefore doesn't have the artwork. I noticed many of the songs that came up empty were from CDs I had imported years ago that may be out of print now. Again, the program didn't find all of the missing artwork. Unfortunately, it didn't get all of my duplicate tracks. I ended up deleting more than 100 duplicate tracks. The software let me preview the original track and the one slated for removal, just to be sure I was deleting the right ones. Duplicates scans for identical songs by track name, track number and the length of time. The program starts by loading the iTunes library, then opening up its user-friendly interface. iTunes Statistics - Charts your most-played songs, release dates for music to show what you listen to the most.Fix Track Info - Adds missing information such as album names, musicians or release dates.Not in iTunes - Searches the computer for songs that may not be in iTunes yet.Missing Tracks - Searches for the tracks associated with track listings and matches them, or deletes the phantom listings.Missing Artwork - Finds and adds photos of the album covers to each song.Duplicates - Finds and erases duplicate songs.Tune Sweeper is a collection of several tools: ![]() (It does have a demo version, but it basically shows you what it can do but doesn't actually do it.) So I crossed my fingers and installed it. Tune Sweeper 4 said it could fix all of that. I had duplicate tracks, tracks missing artwork, tracks missing important information, and tracks scattered all over the hard drive. Years of importing CDs, purchasing music, moving things around, importing stuff again because I didn't realize I already had it. My iTunes library on my Mac is another story. I use it more for business, so the iTunes on it is pretty bare. I tested it on my Mac because I really don't have much music on my PC. Tune Sweeper 4 is available for both PC and Mac computers. So when I heard about Tune Sweeper 4 from Wide Angle Software, I had high hopes. After all that moving, my iTunes library is - you guessed it - a total mess. That was two computers ago, not to mention three backup hard drives ago. For the most part, it's worked out OK, except when it comes to my iTunes music library. True to form, I backed stuff up, stored it on this hard drive and that backup drive, and moved some of it to the new computer while keeping other stuff on the backup drives. After getting a new PC last year, I finally broke down and got a new Mac recently. More information is available at /tunesweeper.
